Biography, Life story

Mona Abd El Ghani was born on 14 November 1964 in Cairo, Egypt. She is one of four brothers and sisters. She studied at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts. She participated in her first acting work in 1985, the series “Sons.” In the early 1980s, she joined musician Ammar al-Shariri with retired singer Hannan and singer Alaa Abd al-Khaliq, to be the group (Friends) that released the album Cassette, and then the group separated and boarded each singer himself. Until Mona dealt with the well-known musician Hamid al-Sha ‘iri, who distributed her the 1987 video “Sahib”, which was a resounding success and placed her at the forefront of young singers at the time, in the same year she participated in the series “Sorry There Is No Solution, Tower of Acabre” and the play “Ayaz Atzouk”. In 1989, she participated in a film (Teacher Samah) with late actress Medha Kamel and actor Ezzat Al-Alali, directed by Mohammed Abdulaziz. She co-sang several series and films, including “Fathers Only”, which starred with artist Mohammed Tharut. In the early 1990s, she released her second album, bearing the name “Reasons”, and then her third album “Batidah.” She also participated in several works including Pearls and Shells, Sea Bride, Thousand Nights and Movies (True Love, Six Crazy Script, Girls in Trouble, Basha) and sang introductions and endings of some of these works. In the mid-1990s until the end of the 1990s, 3 released successive albums: “Saharanin, Bold, With Your Love and With a Dream” and participated in “Harun Al-Rasheed” and “Talk in the Forbidden.”

Her brother died in a car accident, and she retired from art with grief and wore a hijab and stopped singing, causing trouble with her husband and the 2002 separation. After a stint she married businessman Mohammed Qura in 2006 and then also separated from him. She then married Mohammed Yisri, a businessman who owned a private security company. After a period of hiatus, it returned again in 2003 through social and religious programmes and religious series, including the “Mona and Sisters” programme, which serves as a salon that defines women’s rights and duties, and the “Six What Know Tod” programme. Among the television series she participated in after returning from retirement are: (At the door of Egypt, Harun al-Rashid, Women in Islam, Imam al-Femme, Live Your Days, Imam Mohammed Abdu). In 2013, she discussed a letter entitled “Proposed trainings to address the difficulties of Arabic singing students in performing the poem template” and obtained a doctoral degree. And in 2014 I decided to go back to singing but through religiously committed songs.

She married the artist Sharif Salama of Salama’s well-known artistic family in 1985, with whom she had a son and daughter (Rim) and (Karim), and the divorce took place after 17 years of marriage in 2002. She finally married Muhammad Qoura.
