Biography, Life story

Basel Khayat was born on 29 August 1977 in the Sha ‘abi neighbourhood of Baghdad Street, a suburb of Syria’s capital, Damascus. He started acting from the age of 8, where he participated in the Children’s Theatre. He graduated from the Higher Institute of Performing Arts in Damascus with artists (Qusay Khuli, Slafah Ma ‘amar, Ndin Tahsan Beek). He worked extensively in Syrian drama, including his work (Basil, Rainbow, Spot of Light, Salahuddin Al-Ayoubi, Al-Ghariba Al-Palestine), also participated in the Egyptian drama, his work (Friendly Fire, First Lady, Place in the Palace), and his most prominent work in the cinema (Door of the Sun: Departure, Door: the Sun: Return, Dev, Dev, Dev. He also participated in many plays in France, Egypt, Beirut, Jordan, Kuwait and Syria. The most important roles played by Amir in Brotherhood and Yahya Manisi in My Way series with the artist Shirin Abdulwahab.
