Biography, Life story
Bassel Alzaro was born on 2 July 1986 in Cairo, Egypt, to a Jordanian father of Palestinian origin and an Egyptian mother. He graduated from the Modern University of Science and Arts in Cairo where he specialized in marketing and business administration. He began his work at the age of 16 when he took part in the Melody Premier show, and was awarded the Channel Melody Television Presentation Award in 2004. This was Basil’s career start and he was chosen to become the official presenter of the programme on Rotana and CBC with Lebanese actress and broadcaster Yusra Aluzi in 2013. He then moved to Beirut to present Soka Stars on Future TV.
Basil Alzaro decided to move to London in 2006, where he spent almost a year before returning to Cairo to experience a 3-year career in marketing for the global tobacco business Dunhill. Throughout this period, he has not moved away from art, filming three works for Pepsi Arabia TV in Dubai (Cafe Arabia, Face of, You’re 60 Seconds). He returned in 2015 to present X Factor for the next season on MBC 4 with Daniela Rahma.
