Tom Hanks was born on 9 July 1956 in Concord, California, United States. His childhood was troubled and his family often moved from city to city, his parents separated as a young man. He had no acting experience when he was a student at the university where all he did was he applied for representation in one of the plays and he was accepted and started his technical career where the director of the play invited him to go to Cleveland and it was a start from there.

In the 1980s, Tom Hanks’ first film was in 1980 (He Knows You ‘re Alone) and had little success. That same year he did a television series, Bosom Buddies, which ran until 1982. Because of his success in the series, he was offered a role in the 1984 film Bachelor Party. His first major and successful appearance was in the 1984 film Splash. It was followed by the 1989 film Turner & Hooch. He then imposed himself as a star when he achieved great success in the 1988 film Big and his real start in Hollywood.

In the 1990s, Tom Hanks acted in The Bonfire of the Vanities in 1990, and A League of Their Own with pop singer Madonna in 1992. 1993 was the biggest success of all when star Denzel Washington took part in Philadelphia, where he received his first Oscar. That same year he had a successful romantic film (Sleepless in Seattle). In 1994 he received his second Oscar for Forrest Gump. His successes followed and he starred in the 1995 film Apollo 13. He recorded his voice for Woody’s character in Disney’s film Toy Story, which had a second part in 1999 and a third in 2010. In 1996 he first directed “That Thing You Do”, in which he also acted. In 1998, he participated in the film Saving Private Ryan. Like the romantic comedy (You ‘ve Got Mail) with Meg Ryan. In 1999, he made the film The Green Mile.

In the new millennium, Tom Hanks starred in Cast Away in 2000, playing a mafia man in Road to Perdition with Paul Newman in 2002, and that same year the director Steven Spielberg and actor Leonardo DiCaprio co-starred in Catch Me if You Can. In 2004 Hanks participated in three films. The Ladykillers, The Polar Express and The Terminal. In 2006 he co-starred in the film The Da Vinci Code, which generated huge revenues. In 2007, he worked with actress Julia Roberts on Charlie Wilson’s War. In 2009, he starred in the second part of the Angels & Demons series.

Tom Hanks married Samantha Los in 1978, a boy and a daughter answered, and they separated in 1987. He then met his second wife, actress Rita Wilson, in Cleveland in 1985, and appeared together in Volunteers, married her in 1988, with two children.
