Summer Glau

Summer Glau was born on July 24, 1981 in San Antonio, Texas, in the United States, where she grew up with her parents and her two younger sisters, Christy and Caitlin. She has Scottish-Irish and German ancestry. Her mother is a teacher while her father is a general contractor. She received a scholarship to study ballet from a company, and she was taught at home from the third to the twelfth grade, and at the same time she continued her studies in ballet with her private coach, and in addition to that, she learned tango and flamenco dancing. After a serious ankle injury ended her career as a dancer, she decided to move to Los Angeles in 2002 to pursue her acting career.

She began working in acting in 2002 through her first honorary appearance on television in the series (Angel) as a ballerina, and from there she was caught by the eyes of director Joss Whedon, who gave her the role of (River Tam) in the science fiction series (Firefly), through which she gained fame, and later She repeated the role in the sequel to the series in the successful movie (Serenity). It is noteworthy that Samar had previously tried the role of Pink Rager for the Power Rangers series, but she did not get the role, and she continued to appear in series with small or minor roles, including the Cold Case series, the CSI series, and also appeared in the Unity series.

Samar Glau was voted Best Actress in 2005 by readers of SFX magazine, and won a Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Serenity. She was also nominated in the Best Actress category in 2006 for the SyFy Genre Awards. In 2008, she won her second Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress in Television for her role as Cameron in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
