Rima Fakih was born on September 22, 1985 in the village of Srifa, Nabatiyeh Governorate in southern Lebanon, to a Lebanese Shiite Muslim family consisting of parents Hassan Fakih and Nadia Fakih, and she has 4 brothers, Rabie, Rana, Ruba and Rami (some of them now reside in Srifa). In 1993, she immigrated with her family from Srifa to escape the effects of the Lebanese civil war to Jamaica, and later to New York in the United States, where her father established a Lebanese restaurant, which he sold after 10 years after the events of September 11, 2001 to work in general trade in Dearborn, to which he moved with his family in 2003. She is a Business Administration graduate from the University of Michigan at Dearborn.
Rima Fakih participated in the Miss Lebanon Expatriate contest in Lebanon in 2008, so she came second runner-up, and participated in the Miss Michigan contest in 2009, and won it, which qualified her to participate in the Miss USA 2010 contest, which she also won. She participated in the Miss Universe 2010 contest and did not run for the finals.
In 2011, Rima Fakih was arrested for drunk driving in Highland Park, Michigan, and in 2012 she was tried with six months probation, a $600 fine, and 20 hours of community service.
