Nicki Minaj was born on December 8, 1982 in Port of Spain, the capital of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, to a father of Afro-Indian descent. She lived with her grandmother until the age of 5. She entered the school of acting and singing and studied at (Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School).
