Michael Jackson was born on August 29, 1958 in Gary, Indiana, United States, and died on June 25, 2009 in Los Angeles, California, United States. He has been called the King of Pop. Ranked as the most successful and most important superstar in the history of music ever by Guinness World Records. His unparalleled contributions to the fields of music, dance and fashion, as well as a life in the limelight, have made him a global figure and part of global popular culture.
The eighth child of the Jackson family, he began his singing career with his brothers as a member of the Jackson 5 in 1964, then began singing solo in 1971. In the early 1980s, Jackson became a prominent figure in popular music. Attributed to his music videos, including “Beat It”, “Billie Jean”, and “Thriller”, he was credited with breaking racial barriers on music television stations as he was the first singer of African origin to show his song videos on MTV, in addition to that he has the credit In turning a music video into an art form and promotional tool.
