Julianne Moore was born on 3 December 1960 in Fayetteville County, North Carolina, United States. She has studied at Boston University since 1983, and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts.

Nominated for four Academy Awards, she won the 1988 Emmy Award for Youngest Outstanding Actress in a Morning Drama, and received the 1994 Golden Globe for Best Cast Actors for their Role in a Short Road Film.

She married Sendar Chuck in 1983, and soon separated in 1985. Immediately thereafter, she married John Robin in 1986 and separated in 1995. She subsequently married Bart Frundlich since 2003.
