Biography, Life story
Gillian Anderson was born on 9 August 1968 in Chicago in the United States. Anderson wanted to study aquatic biology, but her interest quickly shifted to acting through theatrical performances she was participating in on her high school stage, trained in acting at the Grand Rapids Theatre and the School of Performing Arts, after which she began studying theatre, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1990 from De Paul University Theatre School in Chicago. After graduating, she moved to New York, where she found her chance there on stage through the play Absent Friends, and later appeared with small roles in several other artworks, until 1993, where she co-starred in the drama series The X-Files as special agent (Dana Scully) with star David Dushovny, after which the artworks rolled.
