Amina Khalil was born on October 26, 1988 in Cairo, Egypt. Her uncle is musician Yahya Khalil. She studied acting at American University and graduated from 2009, then traveled to the United States where she studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and the Film Institute there. She began acting in 2011 through the university series, and Powell played her cinema role in 2014 in the films Ashm, Festival.
