Biography, Life story

Nicole Kidman was born on 20 June 1967 in Honolulu, Hawaii, United States. Her father is Dr Anthony David Kidman, and her mother is Janelle Ann McNeil, of Scottish and Irish descent respectively, both of whom were born in Australia. She has a younger sister born in 1970, Antonia. Her father was a cancer researcher in Washington City. When Kidman was 4 years old, the family returned to Australia, where her father was a lecturer at the Technical University, Sydney. Kidman began taking ballet classes, leading her to study at the Sydney Australian Youth Theatre, then at Philip Street Theatre, where she specialized in sound production and theatre history. When she lived in Longville, New South Wales, she attended North Sydney High Girls’ School, but was discharged when her mother developed breast cancer; Kidman focused on her family responsibilities until her mother got better.
