Biography, Life story

Meg Ryan was born on November 19, 1961 in Fairfield, Connecticut, United States. Then her family moved to Bethel. She studied journalism at New York University. She paid for her education by acting in commercial television advertisements, and after graduation she began her work in the acting profession.

Her first major role came in 1981’s Rich and Famous, and in the mid-1980s she began appearing in films focusing on key characters such as Top Gun and Inner Pace. She is very well known for her hilarious roles in popular romantic comedies such as When Harry Met Sally, and starred with Tom Hanks in three of these films, Joe Versus the Volcano in 1990, Sleepless in Seattle in 1993 and You’re Got in 1998.

Meg Ryan also played different types of roles and expanded her representation. She played a liquor addict in When A Man Loves A Woman in 1994. She played a military helicopter pilot in the 1996 film Courage Under Fire. And a strange dancer in the 1998 film Hurlyburly.

In the mid-1990s Ryan founded a production company, through which she filmed Prufrock. The company’s first effort was the 1995 comedy and romance film a French kiss with the participation of actor Kevin Klein.

Meg Ryan married actor Denise Quaid in 1991, with whom she had one son, and then divorced him in 2001 after her role in the film Proof of Life with Russell Crowe, which she briefly dated that year until Meg ended the relationship. In 2007, she adopted a girl from China.

Meg is known for her critical statements to Israel and has boycotted the Jerusalem Film Festival in protest against the attack on the Freedom Convoy.
