Bassem Yakhour was born on August 16, 1971 in Damascus, the capital of Syria. He graduated from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in 1993, and was in the same class as the artists Shukran Murtaja, Muhannad Qutaish, Farah Bseisu, Qassem Malho, and others, and joined the Artists Syndicate. The Syrians on February 16, 1999. His first work was the series (Al-Thuraya) in 1994, after which he participated in starring in a large number of series in Syria, and then in Egypt. The major shift in his artistic life came when he participated in the Egyptian movie (Naama Bay) in 2007, to continue his participation in the championship of several Egyptian series, and he also participated in a number of different plays.
