Bassem Samra

Bassem Samra was born on October 16, 1964 in Dakahlia Governorate, Egypt. He resides in Cairo. He graduated from the Faculty of Education and worked as a teacher of industrial drawing for the secondary stage for a short period before heading to acting, where he began his artistic career by participating in the short film “Cairo Shining with Its People” directed by Youssef Chahine, and after that the movie “Mercedes” and the movie “Boys and Girls” directed by Yousry Nasrallah. Then he spent about five years not working until he returned to star in the movie “The City” in 2000, directed by Yousry Nasrallah, and it achieved wide success, for which he won the Carthage Film Festival Award. Bassem Samra has authentic Egyptian features and has won many awards for performing various roles in international festivals.
